I think this is really funny and my husband and I both got a good chuckle about it. The comments made me laugh even more. I know rape isn't a joke but sometimes giving something a lighter feel helps those who have been victims to talk about it. It kind of lightens the mood. Plus honestly at this point in time I don't think space rape is really something we need to be worrying about.
Many of the comments here seem like they were made by younger people who haven't yet been raped or raped anyone. A lot of noise is made on how girls should protect themselves but little is said to teach young men how NOT to do it. Jokes like this really make the situation worse!
You make it sound like everyone gets raped or will rape someone they just have to be of the age to do it. Like it's a puberty thing. Jokes like this don't make the culture any worse or better. It does however make people who understand what a joke is and that it's not something that should really happen smile. I'd stop sweating the small stuff if I were you or you'll never grow old enough to hit your assumed age of rape. I'm assuming such age is like 150 so were all pretty safe when it comes to hitting an age when we ALL will some how rape someone or be raped.
I know, "it's just a joke" but the fact that you care so little that you accept the idea of rape being funny, just goes to show inconsiderate you are. Rape is not some obscure thing that hardly happens to anyone and is ok to joke about because, hey, it's not like a rape victim would see this.
The scary thing is-- and it's true-- many rape victims are actually told "no one can hear you." Do you understand how triggering this could be for someone who actually survived rape?
Rape is real, rape is prevalent; rape is not something to joke about. Ever.
